Okay so I've been trying to get into the spirit of Halloween. I've been very disappointed these last few years because Halloween is one of my favorite nights of the year, and we didn't do squat. I'm not saying I like being scared because I DON'T, but the adrenaline and excitemnt is a ton of fun. And let's face it, I love to get all dressed up in costumes and this is the one night that I can do it without getting weird looks. So as I'm trying to get into the mood I decided that I would watch one of the Halloween (Michael Myers) movies. I picked one (there's like 7 of them) that I had seen before so that I wouldn't be as surprised when things pop out and not too scared of sleeping by myself in my own room. I watched it once with my friend Cameron and again with my friend Kyle without incident. Not scared at all in the slightest. Actually Kyle and I spent the whole time laughing at silly expressions of the characters and how fake the blood looked. But tonigt I watched it with my friend Grant and it scared the poo out of me. I don't get it. Nothing was different and I have seen this movie it seems like a thousand times. I can even quote parts of it. But for some reason I can't shake the jitters. BAH!

Okay Okay OKAY!!!!!
SO I know I've been absent for quite a while. In truth it's because there really isn't anything all that exciting going on. I've been talking to a lot of old friends on facebook and myspace and got to hang out with a bunch of them so that's been great. It's awesome to see how much we change in 5 years. Everyone is all grown up(ish)!!! I also went on a brief dating spree but I'm really not feeling like that is the route I want to be taking right now so I'v been keeping busy with work, church and institute with Bro. Griner. I also must say that I am extremely proud of my dad for his appearances on the Prop 8 commercials. He got a lot of hate emails and negative feedback not just from the general population but also from his colleagues. GO DAD! He really is my hero (instert "awwwwww" here). Aside from all that I promise to try and keep up with the blogging!!!!!! More pictures to come I promise!

Birthday at Disneyland Part 2
The second time I went to Disneyland was on monday with my friend Kyle Langenheim. I totally whooped his butt on Astro Blasters but for some reason my score in the picture says 0..... just kidding I failed miserably... Also had a ton of fun and can't wait to go back for round 2!!! I love having a pass again! I'd go by myself if I had to.

Birthday At Disneyland Part 1
So I went to Disneyland for my Birthday.... twice! This is me with my friend Jason Ohlwiler. It was so much fun. And toward the end of the night I think my throat was probably bleeding because we screamed on every ride.... even when it wasn't a "scary" part. We also tried to see how many pictures we could stand in the background for without making it obvious.... it was awesome!!! Me=NERD!!!

And Now For The "Major Post"
Ladies And Gentlemen I have an announcement to make: I fell in LOVE! I am now the proud owner of a 2008 Nissan Sentra. I finally got rid of my pile of junk Ford Ranger a.k.a. "Anger" and traded it for my one true love. I was going to try to post the pictures my dad took of me signing the mountain of paperwork and cutting the check for the down payment, but getting a hold of my dad is like trying to catch Edward or Alice!!!!

Some Say The World Will End In Fire, Some Say In Ice
I am re-reading the Twilight series (again) and I can't help falling deeper in love with it. Seriously, if you are female and you haven't read these books yet, you probably A) live under a rock, or B) cannot read yet. And now that I've dubbed myself the "Twilight Missionary" (spreading the message to those who have not yet heard of this fantabulous book), I have finally come across a road block!!! I really REALLY want to give a copy to my friend Rika who lives in Japan, but I can't find out how to get it in Japanese. I know they must have it because my friend Gina (from Thailand) found it in Thai, and after she explained the story to me (as I haven't a clue what the sqiggly lines mean) I am confident that it is in fact my beloved Edward and Bella. If anyone knows how I might acquire Twilight translated into Japanese, PLEASE let me know!!!! I really want to give her that book. I know she will love it! And maybe she might spread the word in Japan. That would be AWESOME! They LOVE this kinda stuff!

From The Mouths Of Babes
Background Story: A couple of years ago I was babysitting JT while mom was out running erands. JT wanted to watch a movie so I turned around to get the DVD started. In the few seconds that I was not watching him he found and tried to swallow a marble!!!! I turned back around and his face was turning purple and he couldn't make any noise.... he was choking!! I went into panic mode and I hardly remember doing it but I quickly sat beside him with one hand on his back and the other made a fist quickly "punching" his diaphragm... the "Heimlich Maneuver". It worked and the marble flew (at a good distance, too) out of his mouth onto the floor. I think this was by FAR the most traumatizing experience I've had while babysitting.
The Reason I'm Telling You All This: Tonight while everyone was eating dinner JT was entertaining everyone by retelling this horrifying experience. "... and then I found the marble, and tried to swallow it, and I CHOKED!!.....and then Megan came up behind me and did the BARF DANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!" Where he came up with the "Barf Dance"???? I have no idea.

Mud Run 2008
Okay so I know I'v gone on and on about the MUD RUN. I finally have a couple of pictures to show for it. The first are the Peterson kids!!! Aren't we so cute (hahaha)! The second is John sporting his "turban". It got way too hot so John soaked it and tied it around his head. The third is with Jason and his Fiancee Inga who both live in Boston.... a fun fact about Inga: She was my freshman English teacher at Capo! She only taught there for one year..... small world. Then there's a picture with the office staff (Howie/Dr. Fox, Me and Allison). Then there is a picture of our whole group! So much fun! And now for the EXCITING NEWS from the run (drum roll please)....... out of more than 4,000 people Erik, my 15 year old brother who just finished his freshman year of high school, finished SECOND OVERALL coming in 13 seconds behind the first person, and FIRST for his age group!!!!! Can you believe it?!?!?!?! And he's related to ME!!!!!!!!

Endless Source of Pictures
P.S. The food that Mitsuru is holding up to the paper doll (My Boss' daughter's Flat Stanley project) is in fact CHIKEN LIVER!!! And I ate it!!! I chewed and swallowed it, then grabbed the closest thing to me to get rid of the awful taste. I'm sorry but i knew right away when John told me it was just chicken that there was something wrong because it looked like little pieces of raw steak. I vow to never eat anything that I don't know what it is first. YYYYYYYUUUUCCCCKKKKK!!!!!!

NIHONG (Japan)
Okay guys so I'm ending my strike. Much thanks to a generous friend. So I finally got back from Japan a couple weeks ago and I had a BLAST! I left Friday afternoon and got there Saturday evening. The next day John's cousin took us shopping in Machida and then we took the train to Shinjuku. We walked around the cuty and went to Roppongi Hills Tower where they have an excellent view of Tokyo tower. The next day we visited our friend Mitsuru and I met his grandparents that he lives with. They are so nice. They bought KFC and pizza for us to eat for dinner and even cooked (a lot) food us. We went to this place called the Yunessun which was incredible! It's like a bunch of hot spring jacuzzis but instead of just water they were filled with: Green Tea, CHOCOLATE, coffee, wine, sake, charcoal, chili pepper and others that I can't remember. Obviously you don't drink it so I figured it was okay to soak in it. It was so much fun we really didn't get a chance to just sit and soak because we were too busy running around and jumping in the other flavors! They also had one that we didn't do (thank goodness) that you just put your feet in and little sucker fish come and suck th dead skin off your feet! Disgusting!!!!! We went to Utsunomia to visit John's Aunt, Uncle, and cousins and had Japan's famous Gyoza. If you've never eaten this, you're missing out. It was fabulous. John's Aunt (Keiko) and cousin (Akira) took us to see a shrine, cherry blossoms, and to a really fun souvenir shop! It was great! Then we took the bullet train back to Machida. It fealt like the majority of the time we were on the train (not the bullet train, the normal train). The next day we went to DISNEYLAND TOKYO!!!! It was sooooo awesome. It was raining so there was NO croud! Mitsuru and his amazing girlfriend Rika surprised us by going with us. They told us they were going to drop us off at the train that goes there, but when we saw the Disneyland sign above us we knew something was up. I was so much fun to be there, but even better because our friends were there with us. After Disneyland closed we rushed off to Disney Sea. It's not like Sea World or anything which was what I was expecting from the name. It's their equivalent of our California Adventure, but WAY better. It's called Disney Sea because it's by the sea..... go figure. It was beautiful built like we were by the Mediterranean Sea. They even had gondalas!!! Next day we went bowling with Mitsuru and Rika, and excuse me for owning up to my bragging rights, but we kicked their BUTTS!!!!!!!!!! Saturday John had a huge surprise for me. We went with a group of friends and his cousin Satako to the JACK JOHNSON concert in Yokohama!!!!! Hahahahah! Meredith is so jealous (probably why she tagged me.....). It was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! Finally sunday rolled around and it was time for me to go, but I had the most fun ever, and I got to cross one of my "Counties to Visit Before I Die" off of my list. Thank You's to John, Rika, Mituru, Keiko, Toshi, Akira, Yurika, Michael, Satako, Yumiko, Hideki (maybe next time smart aleck) and everyone else that made this the best trip ever..... oh, and the train conductor that had the weirdest voice I have ever heard in my life!

The Cause
Okay guys, sorry about the last post. I mixed everything up. Here's the REAL story. Every year my boss (Dr. "Howie" Fox) runs the World Famous Camp Pendleton Mud Run in honor of his late cousin, Amos Fleisher, who died from sudden cardiovascular death syndrome. In the time leading up to the race we have been doing a fund raiser to raise money for the American Heart Association to provide "CPR Anytime" kits. This year we will be doing things a little bit differently. Last summer Dana Hills HIgh School freshman Megan Myers died suddenly while competeing in a cross country race for her school. So this time around we will be fund raising through the Fleisher Foundation, and all prcedes will be used to buy AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) for all of our Capistrano Unified schools. Our goal is to have AEDs available to all sporting events, nurses offices, etc. Every bit counts, even if it's only $5.00. If you would like to donate, please visit www.fleisher-foundation.org , or you can email me at megwhereisrosco@gmail.com and I would be happy to help you out. There is also an extra bonus: If we reach our fundraising goal (this year our office goal is $12,00), Howie and his friend Jason will cut a mohawk which they have to wear until after the race!!! The person to donate the highest amount gets to choose the color of the mohawks!!! Last year was purple! Allison and I also color our hair for the event. I am including some pictures of Amos, Megan Myers, and last year's Mud Run.
